A Peek at the New Fire Station Design

New Fort Erie Fire Hall

New Fort Erie Fire Hall

The new fire station designed to replace the Jarvis street fire station is one step closer to reality.  The architect firm of V. Panici has given us a sneak peek at the draft design.  Much thought has been put into the exterior appearance to ensure that it blends in with the surrounding historical buildings and is a true community asset.

Final design is expected to be complete in February, with construction set to go to tender shortly after, and if all goes well we should see a shovel in the ground in the spring.

In addition, the station will be home to not just the Jarvis street station, but also the Bertie Street one.  After much careful consideration, it was decided to move operations from station one to the new facility also.  Three groups of firefighters will be convened in the new year to ensure the transition is a smooth success.  Firefighters will be tasked with an operational transition group, an association one, as well as a building design one.

Check back here in the new year for more details.
