Town Staff and Councillors Raise $2000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big Sisters Fort Erie began the local Tim Hortons Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake Fundraising Campaign February 25, 2012.  The Bowl for Kids Sake event is geared towards keeping local funds in local communities for youth in need of mentoring programs.  Town Councillors and Staff decided to engage in some friendly competition while at the same time contribute to the mentoring needs for our Fort Erie youth.  This past weekend, three teams from Town Hall which included, Councillors, Finance Fever and Planning Pinheads, participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Fort Erie Bowl for Kids Sake Fundraising Campaign.   The three teams raised a total of $1955, which will be used to help kids in our community.

Finance Fever scored the highest points coming in at 1540, followed by the Planning Pinheads at 1470 and the Councillors at 1288 points. This was a collaborative effort by all team members contributing to the present and future needs of our local mentoring programs.  There is one more Town team participating in this event, The Gas Bags, which will take place on Saturday March 3.  Stay tuned to see how they make out.
