The Town of Fort Erie has initiated a housekeeping amendment of the Town’s Zoning By-law to update the provisions for home occupations. The Town has conducted a review of standards for home occupations throughout the Niagara Region and in other jurisdictions. The objective is to improve the By-law by reducing barriers for people choosing to work from home while restricting activities that have the potential to impact on the residential character of the neighbourhood or that will result in nuisance impacts.
