Council recently passed the necessary by-law to authorize the Clerk to provide civil
marriage services. Implementation of the process is now complete and Town Hall staff are
ready to receive bookings. Many couples who have obtained their marriage licence over
the years have enquired about the service which was not available until now.

A civil marriage ceremony offers couples the alternative of making their relationship legal
in a very simplistic yet special way with the Clerk as the officiant of a personalized but
modest ceremony. Town Clerk, Laura Bubanko has the experience of performing over
180 civil marriage ceremonies and is looking forward to providing this service in the Town
Council Chambers and other beautiful locations around the municipality.
