Fort Erie Waterfront Strategy: Community Workshop #2

The Town of Fort Erie has initiated the Fort Erie Waterfront Strategy to identify opportunities to
improve/augment parks, town-owned land, destinations and attractions along the Lake Erie and
Niagara River shoreline. The Waterfront Strategy will provide a long-term vision and contain an action plan with short, medium and long term objectives. As well as an overall strategy for all waterfront lands, more detailed conceptual plans for two sites along the waterfront will illustrate opportunities for change.

Please attend the second community workshop on May 24, 2016 at the Fort Erie Leisureplex. The community workshop will begin at 6:00 p.m. with an informal open house to review work-in-progress, followed by a presentation at 6:30 p.m. and table group discussions.

The workshop will begin with a presentation to review work in progress on the vision statement, draft design principles and key directions for each of the eight frameworks of the Waterfront Strategy. Table group discussions will follow the presentation to collect input on the team’s work in progress. The eight frameworks comprising the Waterfront Strategy are:
• waterfront parks, open spaces and points of access
• access
• natural features
• heritage and cultural features
• destinations and tourist attractions
• neighbourhoods
• boating
• natural shoreline hazards
