An important step was taken on November 30, to protect the Great Lakes. A letter was delivered to Minister McKenna, signed by 104 Great Lakes Mayors & Elected Officials (including Mayor Redekop), representing almost 16 million people, united in opposition, and calling on her to reject Ontario Power Generation’s plan to permanently bury nuclear waste on the shores of the Great Lakes.
