On Friday June 15, 2018 Mayor and Council of the Town of Fort Erie recognized the many volunteers that sit on Council committees with an evening of Hors d’oeuvres and dessert provided by Pomegranate Restaurant and an inspiring key note speaker, Sarah McVanel. Sarah McVanel’s talk “Living & Leveraging Your Greatness” emphasized being the best you can be and to really use your own personal strengths to help strengthen your community and those around you; it was a perfect fit for this event and was an additional reminder of how valuable volunteers are to a community.

Student involvement in this event was also greatly appreciated, from the serving and preparing of the food from the catering program at the Greater Fort Erie Secondary school to the student jazz band that provided additional ambience to the event.

This event was held at the Greater Fort Erie Secondary School in the great hall and theatre, it should be noted that the theatre is available for rent for public events.

Mayor and Council would like to thank not only the volunteers that attended the event and their continued support, but also the Town Staff that organized and professionally executed this successful event.
