Over the last few years the Niagara Region has experienced record numbers of building permits for residential homes, Fort Erie has continued to sustain this residential growth. In the third quarter from July 1 – September 30, Fort Erie issued permits for a total of 82 new residential dwellings, resulting in the best third quarter on record! This third quarter not only exceeded last year’s third quarter numbers, but also surpassed the benchmark year of 2016 which had permits issued for 74 new dwellings in its third quarter.
Most of this growth is occurring in the Ridgeway Neighbourhood where the new residential permits were predominantly for multi-family dwellings (townhomes and apartments), this is very exciting for Fort Erie as this adds to the mix of homes that are now being made available to families at various price points, creating a more affordable housing option. Fort Erie encourages this growth and sees this positive trend continuing in other neighbourhoods over the longer term.
..they’ve issued the permits, but are the houses being built? Not on the mess developed on Black Creek in Stevensville
