FORT ERIE (March 6, 2020) In December 2019, Town Staff applied for grant funding from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) for the development of a Corporate Software Systems Review. Earlier this week, Town Staff received confirmation from the Minister that the Town would be receiving up to $112,500 through its Municipal Modernization Program (MMP). The MMP is designed to help municipalities lower costs and improve services for local residents and businesses over the long term.
“We are planning a major overhaul of our financial and asset management software. The systems review project will provide us with an overview of the best way to utilize technology in order to execute routine activities more efficiently and in a way that meets the evolving needs of our Town,” said Kelly Davis, manager, digital services.
Once completed, the Corporate Software Systems Review will identify opportunities to integrate and modernize corporate systems. The review will also identify what corporate software systems (current or new) best support business processes and will aid in prioritizing acquisitions. Recommendations from the proposed review will act as a road map for future digital service delivery in the Town.
Over the next couple months, Town Staff will undergo a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) process seeking assistance from an independent third-party reviewer to deliver a final report by September 2020.
