FORT ERIE (March 22, 2020) Fort Erie Mayor Wayne Redekop is self-isolating at home having recently returned from a family trip outside of Canada. While asymptomatic and with no known COVID-19 exposure, the Mayor is following expert public health guidance given to all Canadians to self-isolate for 14 days following international travel.

During this period of self-isolation, Mayor Redekop remains head-of-council and will continue in his governance capacity, working with council and staff to ensure the smooth administration of the municipality. Councillor Ann-Marie Noyes will chair the Monday, March 23, meeting of council during the mayor’s absence.

In keeping with best practice by limiting the number of people gathered in one place at any particular time, Monday’s council meeting will restrict access to the public. The meeting will be open and accessible by live audio streaming through the Town’s website (www.forterie.ca) and live video streaming via Youtube (www.youtube.com/townofforterie). Cogeco TV broadcasts of Fort Erie Council Meetings are available on channel 10 and 700 on the Saturday at 9 a.m. following the meeting.
