Bay Beach Capacity Status Updates Available for Resident Season Pass holders

FORT ERIE (June 25, 2020) To assist with minimizing large crowds from forming at Bay Beach, Fort Erie Resident Season Pass holders will be able to find out the capacity status of Bay Beach, in real-time, prior to heading out for the day.

“We are anticipating that this will be a very busy summer at Bay Beach. Therefore, we are encouraging resident season pass holders to check the beach capacity updates before they visit the beach to avoid disappointment and overcrowding,” said Tom Kuchyt, CAO.

Beach staff is only allowing 2,000 (max.) Resident Season Pass holders on Bay Beach. Capacity updates will be available on the Town’s website and will include up-to-the-minute information about whether Bay Beach is open to resident season pass holders, nearing beach patron capacity, or at capacity and closed to new patrons.

Due to increased interest in Bay Beach access, the Town is also temporarily extending its beach hours of operation for resident season pass holders to 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (daily) starting Friday, June 26.

Resident season pass holders are required to enter through the Erie Road entrance and leave through the Schooley Road exit and must show their Bay Beach 2020 season pass to gain access to Bay Beach during business hours.

Resident season pass holders are encouraged to visit baybeach.forterie.ca to review rules, parking and other operations prior to heading to Bay Beach.
