FORT ERIE (June 1, 2020) For years, Fort Erie high school students have been organizing an annual “skip day / beach day” event on the first Friday of June.
With Friday, June 5, fast approaching, the Town of Fort Erie would like to remind students that Fort Erie beaches are closed and that the Town’s bylaw enforcement officers are actively monitoring these restricted areas.
“The Town of Fort Erie has decided to keep the beaches closed to help keep our community safe and to prevent the spread of COVID-19. People must follow these rules so that we can move through this pandemic, and hopefully remove these restrictions at some point in the future. ‘Beach day’ is no exception to this rule,” says Tom Kuchyt, Chief Administrative Officer.
The Town of Fort Erie is working to ensure students and residents are complying with Town regulations during this unprecedented time. Those who are caught not following these regulations will be subject to a fine up to $750.
