Proof of vaccination will be required to enter Town arenas

FORT ERIE (September 20, 2021) Beginning on September 22, anyone looking to enter Town arenas will need to be fully vaccinated and provide their proof of vaccination along with photo ID or written proof of an approved exemption.

This approach aligns with the provincial proof of vaccination program that focuses on higher-risk indoor public settings where face coverings cannot always be worn. Town of Fort Erie facilities that will require proof of vaccination include:

  • Leisureplex
  • Crystal Ridge Arena

“From the beginning of this pandemic we have followed provincial and public health guidance. Complying with the province’s proof of vaccination system is another step Fort Erie is taking to ensure the safety of our residents”, said Tom Kuchyt, CAO.

Currently, the Province is developing an enhanced vaccine certificate with a unique QR code and accompanying verification app to allow for a safe and secure way to verify vaccination status when scanned. The enhanced vaccine certificate and verification app will be available beginning October 22.
