FORT ERIE (Dec. 23, 2021) Effective, Dec. 23, 2021, the Town’s administration buildings will return to delivering services by phone, email, virtually, or curb-side pick-up with exception to public services such as bill payments, which can still be done in person at Town Hall.
The Town of Fort Erie is committed to ensuring the health and safety of residents and staff, while continuing to provide customer service to the community. Town services will experience the following changes:
Town Hall
Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, the Town of Fort Erie will be changing its hours of operation at municipal offices from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. This change aligns Fort Erie’s hours of operation with all other municipalities in Niagara. On Jan. 4, representatives will be available at Town Hall for services, such as bill payments, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., by phone at 905-871-1600 or submitting customer service questions/feedback to https://contactus.forterie.ca.
In addition, Town Hall will continue to serve businesses such as contractors, developers and planners by appointment. In-person appointments will be scheduled for essential and time sensitive services. Where possible, services will be provided through remote means. Please connect with a specific department or employee to make the appropriate arrangements.
Fort Erie residents can also manage property taxes, water, and wastewater bills online. For more information, please visit the Town’s website.
Holiday Hours
The Town’s planned holiday closure will begin on Dec. 24, 2021, with Town administration buildings re-opening (with limitations) on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, at 8:30 a.m.
Leisureplex and Crystal Ridge
Leisureplex and Crystal Ridge remain open to the public, operating within Ontario government and public health regulations. The holiday hours are:
- Leisureplex – Dec. 24, 2021 (closes at noon) Dec. 25 and 26, 2021 (closed)
- Crystal Ridge – Dec. 24 to 27, 2021 (closed) Dec. 28, 2021 (opens at 4 p.m.)
Public Works
Essential Town services, including but not limited to, road maintenance, snow removal and water and wastewater operations will continue.
Fort Erie Museums
The Fort Erie museums (indoor only) will be closed to the public until further notice.
Council Meetings
Council meetings will remain closed to the public in the new year, with the first meeting of 2022 scheduled for Monday, Jan. 10, 2022. To access the council calendar, visit our website.
