FORT ERIE (Feb. 4, 2022) While on the search for a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Town Council appointed Jonathan Janzen, Director, Corporate Services / Treasurer, as Interim Chief Administrative Officer for three months starting March 1, 2022.

“Mr. Janzen is an experienced senior leader at the Town of Fort Erie. His work ethic and leadership skills will continue driving Fort Erie in the right direction while we work through hiring the next CAO,” said Mayor Wayne Redekop.

A hiring committee consisting of Mayor Redekop, Councillor McDermott and Councillor Butler was formed in November 2021.

“Interviews for potential candidates are a scheduled for mid-February with the hope to have a new CAO in April,” added Redekop.

To assist with recruitment, Fort Erie hired Legacy Partner Executive Search firm.

Tom Kuchyt, CAO, announced his retirement from the Town of Fort Erie in October 2021, effective Feb. 28, 2022. Kuchyt has 14 years of service with the municipality; seven of which he was the CAO.
