FORT ERIE (September 14, 2022) – The Town of Fort Erie municipal buildings, with the exception of the Leisureplex Arena, will be closed Monday, September 19, 2022, to respectfully acknowledge the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Town Hall Council Chambers will open for the scheduled Council meeting to proceed as planned at 6:00 p.m.
A book of condolences will be available until mid-October in the atrium of Town Hall during regular operating hours (Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) for those who wish to pay their respects and express condolences to The British Royal Family.

The Royal Canadian Legion (Fort Erie Branch No.71 – 130 Garrison Rd.) will be holding a memorial service as follows:
• September 19, 2022
• Branch 71 Parking Lot (weather permitting -in the Branch if weather Is Inclement)
• Form up is 10:30 a.m. … Service to start at 10:45 a.m.
• The following wreaths will be laid – Federal, Provincial, Regional, Town, Veterans’ Affairs and Branch 71.
